Garlic Edamame is a vegetarian Treat

Almost everyone is familiar with edamame these days but have you tried yours with garlic and sesame oil? We boil our edamame pods to “al dente” perfection, and then toss them with minced fresh garlic and sesame oil. Add a sprinkle of salt, and you have some perfectly seasoned edamame. You still don’t eat the pod, just the beans, but when you put the pod in your mouth and squeeze out some beans you get the flavor that is coated all over each edamame pod. This is a very healthy vegetarian snack, even vegan, now that I think about it, but it goes really well with a can of sapporo beer! It’s my favorite pairing. Isn’t there something so satisfying about a pod that pops open and a bean falls in your mouth and its delightfully crunchy and sweet? This is also the perfect snack to share with friends and family. If you are an edamame fan, you might need an edamame key chain too!
